PerkinElmer to Showcase High Resolution X-ray Detector for Non-Destructive Industrial Testing at 11th ECNDT in Prague

October 6, 2014 at 12:00 AM EDT

PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on the health and safety of people and the environment, today announced that it will introduce its innovative new XRD 1611 xP, a 40cm X 40cm real time flat panel X-ray detector for non-destructive industrial testing (NDT) with 100µm pixel pitch, at the 11th European Conference on Non-destructive Testing (ECNDT).

With more than 35,000 X-ray detectors deployed as components of systems for industrial, medical, dental and veterinary imaging, PerkinElmer is a leader in innovative X-ray imaging technology.

"We are excited to unveil our new 100?m pixel pitch flat panel X-ray detector for NDT which helps ensure safety and security in the manufacturing and inspection of components and systems," said Brian Giambattista, President, Medical Imaging for PerkinElmer. "Leveraging our extensive experience providing components for high-energy oncology treatment systems, we have developed a special radiation-hardened detector design capable of withstanding high radiation energies and dosages within harsh environments."

WHEN: October 6-10, 2014
WHERE: Prague Congress Centre (PCC), Booth #115, Prague, Czech Republic

The XRD 1611 xP is a high-speed, flat panel detector designed for use in 24x7 industrial imaging systems. It features a 100µm pixel pitch for enhanced image quality, high dynamic range and contrast, and high saturation dose. Its speed and resolution enable more parts to be inspected in a shorter time, which saves money and time in product evaluation, manufacturing output, and troubleshooting.

The XRD 1611 xP's 16 bit contrast and high spatial resolution help professionals detect the most subtle features and inconsistencies in materials caused either in the manufacturing process or through fatigue.

PerkinElmer will also feature the following NDT X-ray imaging technologies ECNDT: Dexela 1313, 1207NDT, 1512NDT and 2923NDT (CMOS technology) and XRD 0822 and 1622 (amorphous silicon technology).

PerkinElmer, Inc. is a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment. The Company reported revenue of approximately $2.2 billion in 2013, has about 7,600 employees serving customers in more than 150 countries, and is a component of the S&P 500 Index.
