Solutions Support Wide Range of Applications Including Diagnostics for Autoimmune Disorders, Infectious Diseases and Next-Generation Sequencing

WHAT: PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader committed to innovating for a healthier world, today announced that it will display its portfolio of diagnostic solutions, including a focus on its EUROIMMUN products, at the 2018 American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo. This annual event is the world’s largest exposition for clinical laboratory products and services.

WHEN: July 31 – August 2, 2018

WHERE: McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois, Booth #1040

WHY: “An expanding population, combined with the race to detect diseases earlier and an increased focus on personalized health, has placed new pressures on laboratories,” said Prahlad Singh, Executive Vice President and President, Diagnostics, PerkinElmer. “To advance diagnostic screening, drug discovery and disease research, today’s scientists need tools, instruments, reagents, assay platforms and software solutions that can help deliver actionable, reliable results in less time.”

ON DISPLAY: PerkinElmer will display a variety of automation solutions spanning multiple application areas including.

Autoimmune, Infectious Disease, Allergen Screening

EUROLabWorkstation™ ELISA: provides complete walkaway processing of ELISA, from primary sample to end result. The high-throughput system has a high capacity of up to 15 microplates and nearly 800 samples in one run. More than 200 tests can be processed per hour by fast pipetting of samples and reagents with 10 independent pipetting channels and efficient processing of microplates.

EUROLabWorkstation™ IFA: high-throughput, fully-automated immunofluorescence (IFA) processor. The instrument is able to process nearly 800 samples and up to 750 reaction fields in one run. It is the only system able to ensure standardization of incubation and washing procedure due to Titerplane™ and MERGITE!™ technologies. The system ensures full traceability for samples, reagents, slides and performs the cover slipping with a unique fully automated system, thus eliminating manual interaction.

EUROPattern™ (Microscope: fully automated computer-aided immunofluorescence microscopy. This automated microscope is capable of processing up to 500 reaction fields in a singlerun, making it the highest throughput fully-automated microscope on the market The EUROPattern is FDA cleared for automated interpretation of ANA, ANCA and Crithidia luciliae. It is also capable of digitally imaging and archiving any other immunofluorescence assays.

MERGITE!™ Instrumentation: automated and standardized washing for EUROIMMUN immunofluorescence  slides, is the first stand-alone IFA washer on the market.  This washer reduces cross-contamination due to its upside down washing process, inspired from the Titerplane technology.  In one run, the MERGITE can wash of up to 50 reaction fields in parallel by direct and controlled liquid flows.  Additionally the efficient washing technique allows for shorten incubation times of only 30 seconds per wash cycle.

Sprinter XL: automated solution for the processing of up to 30 indirect immunofluorescence slides and up to 6 ELISA plates on one instrument. The system identifies and dilutes samples, performs all incubation and washing steps, as well as reads ELISA microplates by means of an integrated reader, for moderate- to high-throughput laboratories.

EUROBlotOne™: a compact tabletop device for fully automated processing of immunoblots for autoimmune, infectious and allergy diagnostics. The system carries out the identification and dilution of samples, as well as all incubation and washing steps. Incubated strips are automatically dried and photographed before being evaluated with EUROLineScan software.

RA Analyzer™ 10 Random Access Instrument: displayed for the first time, is a compact automation solution for autoimmune, infectious and allergy parameters as well as antigen detection on the basis of chemiluminescence technology. The assay and lot-specific information, including stored standard curves, are imported into the database by means of an RFID code on the reagent cartridge. This enables error-free and convenient loading as well as efficient and secure evaluation of tests.   The RA Analyzer 10 instrument is currently not available in the U.S.

Genomics Workflows

chemagic Prepito®-D Instrument: using PerkinElmer’s proven technology for magnetic-bead-based DNA/RNA isolation, the instrument serves as a high quality sample preparation system in compact-size instrumentation. In combination with the Prepito Kits, the system delivers a high yield of pure DNA/RNA and ensures the success of sensitive research downstream applications like NGS, MLPA, Genotyping, Chip Based Applications and more.

JANUS® G3 Automated Workstation: a versatile and intuitive liquid handling solution that offers multiple pipetting and labware automation technologies to accommodate a dynamic range of applications. The modular platform offers optional 4- or 8-tip Varispan pipetting, 96- or 384-channel Modular Dispense Technology™ (MDT) dispense head, and gripper labware movement for real-time and future adaptability in throughput, plate capacity and dynamic volume range for reliable automated sample processing

Mass Spectrometry

QSight® LC/MS/MS: a platform designed to provide routine high throughput quantitation to laboratories for a wide range of research applications, including metabolomics, proteogenomics, pharmacology and biomarker discovery.
