PerkinElmer Collaborates with Malaysia's Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman to Study Agriculture Industry Safety

WHAT: PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on the health and safety of people and the environment, today announced a collaboration with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Perak Campus, a not-for -profit teaching and research university in Malaysia. PerkinElmer is providing UTAR with its chromatography solutions to test the safety of local food products. This research is intended to provide the local agriculture industry with valuable insights and information on contaminants, adulterants and overall food safety in an effort to improve environmental health and leading to better outcomes for human health.
HOW: PerkinElmer is installing a FlexarTM FX-10 UHPLC liquid chromatography instrument at UTAR to enable professors and students to perform fundamental applications research on a wide range of agricultural products. Initial research projects will focus on determining the presence and levels of sialic acid in edible bird nest.
